The Role

This is a unique, dual-faceted role where strategic sourcing meets front-line execution. Based remotely in Somerset, you will be the driving force behind expanding our existing product portfolio—hunting for new, cutting-edge solutions for our customer base and building rock-solid supplier relationships.

Crucially, you will also take full ownership of our internal sales desk operation, ensuring that the innovative products we source are backed by a seamless, high-performing internal sales and customer service engine.

Key Responsibilities

• Portfolio Expansion: Source and introduce innovative new products that add distinct value to our construction customer base.

• Sales Desk Ownership: Manage and optimize our sales desk operations, ensuring the team delivers exceptional service, handles inquiries efficiently, and maximizes order conversion.

• Supplier Relationship Management (SRM): Identify, negotiate with, and onboard key suppliers, building long-term partnerships built on trust and commercial viability.

• Operational Excellence: Oversee day-to-day operations to ensure seamless order fulfillment, logistics, and inventory management.

• Commercial Negotiation: Secure competitive pricing, favorable terms, and robust SLAs without compromising on quality or innovation.

What We Are Looking For

• Dual Expertise: A strong background in procurement and operations, combined with experience managing or overseeing an internal sales desk/customer service function.

• Industry Experience: Background within the construction, engineering, or building materials sectors is highly desirable.

• The "Innovation" Mindset: A proven track record of successfully sourcing new products and expanding a company’s portfolio.

• Leadership & Drive: Ability to lead from afar, motivating the sales desk while managing supplier relationships autonomously.

• Self-Starter: Comfortable working in a remote Somerset-based role, with the drive to keep projects moving forward.
